*The contact person for each group should keep an eye out for emails in the coming weeks which will contain specific information pertaining to your individual teams (i.e. call times, warm-up locations and special events for you and your cast!)
If you have questions about anything that we don’t cover here, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1. BEFORE THE FESTIVAL
Our Technical Liaison wants to know what you need to have a successful show. Please fill out this Tech Requirements Form by September 25, 2017 at 11:55pm, and we will get our lighting/sound technicians up to speed. (They will be providing their services in the booth free of charge.)
After you complete the form, click the SUBMIT button and it will automatically be delivered to our technical staff.
If you have any difficulty filling out this form, please contact T.J. Mannix at email@example.com.
2. ARRIVAL TO THE FESTIVAL – Please let us know when you will be arriving and what days you will be in town.
CHECK IN – Upon your arrival to the Magnet Theater (254 W. 29th St.), the contact person for each group should check in with the Box Office to pick up your NYMIF Performer Packet which will contain NYMIF performer wrist bands, tickets for water bottles and information for your team.
3. DURING THE FESTIVAL
TAG US – Help us to create buzz leading up to and during the festival by tagging your social media posts with #NYMIF2017.
PERFORMER TICKETS – NYMIF performers wearing their wristbands will gain entry to all NYMIF special events and have access to free tickets to any shows with seats available at showtime. A performer stand-by list will open before each performance – you can sign up for the list at the box office in person 30 minutes before each show.
*There’s no guarantee that there will be seats available to every show, so if you have any shows that you MUST see, we recommend purchasing a ticket ahead of time to ensure that you can get in.
FESTIVAL WORKSHOPS -The Magnet Theater and NYMIF are proud to have been a driving force in musical improvisation over the past decade. Every year, the NYMIF offers master classes and workshops with instructors from New York and beyond. These workshops are only offered during the festival and are open to festival participants and audience members alike. We will be announcing workshops shortly, so stay tuned to www.nymif.com for further info!
SPECIAL PERFORMER EVENTS
PERFORMER BRUNCH (Saturday, October 21st, 11:30am-2:30pm) – One of our favorite festival traditions is the Performer Brunch. It’s a fun, informal way to meet, mingle and bond with other festival performers from all over North America over bagels and mimosas!
If you and/or your group would like to join us for the NYMIF Brunch, please RSVP here by October 16th!
9th ANNUAL NYMIF MUSICAL MIXER (Saturday, October 21st at 11:30pm) – Founded at the first annual NYMIF, we will be celebrating its eighth anniversary during the festival this year. The Musical Mixer has become a weekly highlight for the musical improv community in NYC, challenging veteran performers to bring out the best in first timers and improv students.
Hosted by Las Vegas lounge legend, Trudy Carmichael, this late night NYMIF edition will mix up your teams and pair you with performers from across the globe in one-night-only combinations of duets, trios, and opening/show-stopping/closing numbers. Oh, and the bar WILL be open.
4. AFTER THE FESTIVAL
PHOTOS – We will be snapping pictures all weekend long for our MEDIA page so be sure to check back for those after the festival and please don’t hesitate to share any of your own with us on facebook or instagram!
FEEDBACK – Our goal has always been to treat our NYMIF performers like gold. We love hearing your feedback. We welcome any thoughts, recommendations, compliments, proposals, etc. that you would like to share with us after the festival by dropping us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org!
